Google as a currency converter – Utility

 Google is the quickest way to convert a sum in foreign currency, such as the dollar or the pound sterling, or vice versa…

Google is the search engine used on the web. Its algorithms are highly sophisticated, high-quality, but it is only thanks to them that enjoys the esteem of all (or almost) the internet. Through a myriad of tools and advanced features, Google accompanies users faster browsing, making life even easier for less experienced.

For example, to convert € 100 in U.S. dollars, type in the search box:

100 EUR USD
Google will announce the exact amount in dollars, which at present is 129.75 U.S. Dollars.

Another example is the conversion of € 100 in Sterling. Typing EUR 100 GBP will get the correct result in Sterling, as screenshots, updated through the exchange rate more recently. In each search string, can be alternately used the code of the currency, its symbol or its name, as pointed out by Alex.

Turning to an example, to simplify the discussion, we present the possible strings to perform the conversion between the Euro and Japanese Yen:

     * 5 Euro Japanese Yen
     * 5 EUR JPY
     * € 5 yen

As it is noted, the possible combinations are many and they all have the feature of being intuitive and easy to remember. The search strings are also case-insensitive, i.e. do not distinguish between uppercase and lowercase.
If we wish to have a complete list of codes and symbols associated with the currencies of the world, here are two links (in English):
