Empowering
Your Cyber Safety

We exist to transform digital behavior into secure habits,
made affordable for all across California.

WHO WE ARE?

Digital Armorers

The Public Bureau of Cybersecurity is a nonprofit public benefit organization dedicated to making cybersecurity support more accessible, understandable, and affordable for everyone — especially individuals and communities often left behind by expensive private-sector solutions. We were founded on a simple truth: many people face real cybersecurity risks — but have nowhere to turn for help. That gap puts everyday people, small organizations, and entire communities at risk. Our mission is to raise public awareness, deliver free and low-cost cybersecurity education, and advocate for a safer, more equitable digital future. In the future, we plan to offer: A public cybersecurity help desk Free and sliding-scale trainings Campaigns for cybersecurity literacy Research and advocacy rooted in the public’s lived experiences Our work is grounded in values of equity, transparency, and community power. We believe cybersecurity is a public issue — and we’re building a public response.

Who We Work For

Individuals

People who face digital threats but lack access to affordable help — especially those from under-resourced, high-risk, or historically excluded communities. This includes:

  • Survivors of cyber harassment, stalking, or scams

  • People targeted for their activism, identity, or work

  • Low-income individuals who can’t afford private cybersecurity services

  • Elderly or digitally inexperienced users at high risk of fraud

Public Interest Organizations

We support mission-driven organizations that work with sensitive data or vulnerable populations but lack internal cybersecurity capacity. These include:

  • Nonprofits, grassroots groups, and mutual aid networks

  • Legal services and advocacy organizations

  • Local newsrooms and community journalists

  • Libraries, clinics, and small service agencies

Small Businesses

Local and small businesses that lack the budget or in-house expertise to protect themselves from cyberattacks, scams, or data loss.

We exist to bridge the gap between urgent cybersecurity needs and the people most often left out of protection — ensuring digital safety is a public good, not a luxury.
